The post title may seem a little heavy for what this post is really about, because it is actually really exciting, BUT over the past two months (through the holidays, yikes), my office/house was completely a disaster. The front wall of our home was torn down and extended about 6 feet forward to allow for more working space to take care of my clients. It was cold, dusty and my things were packed away for what seemed like an eternity. Worth it in the end? I think so!!!
I am over the moon excited to share my new office space with you 🙂 My office previously resided in one of our tiny upstairs bedrooms. When we found out we were expecting baby Parker, my wheels started turning about where my new “space” would be. We needed the room for a nursery…I was officially being kicked out! I could have set up my desk in the basement along with my husband, but that just sounded like we were going to be in eachother’s way. I love you hunny, but I like a girly candle burning, quiet time and gold sparkly accents everywhere. I’m pretty sure that would have clashed with your talk radio blasting, phone calls and manly decor (or lack of any decor) 🙂 We had an “ahh ha” moment together one night over a glass of delicous wine. Let’s get rid of our covered porch that we NEVER used, and extend our previously named “wine room” into my office! Sounds easy right? I guess in the end it was…we just had to deal with the mess, two little ones and A LOT going on. I am so thankful to my husband for making it happen. I’ve said it before, and I will say it again, he is my biggest supporter and he will do anything it takes to help push me forward.
My new office makes me feel happy to come to work. It inspires me to push through the harder parts (like editing), to get to the fun and exciting moments like shooting! It embodies my brand, my emotions, and is full of gold accents, which make me super super happy. I can burn my smelly candles that relax me, play some Taylor Swift music (lightly) that allow me to crank through culling with a good beat, and have my cute cats and pup lay by my feet. Ahh..it’s HEAVEN!
